Funding options, explained

Different tools serve different needs. Compare repayment timing, total cost, collateral, and personal guarantees rather than choosing only by a payment amount.

What lenders consider

Lenders may review credit, revenue, time in business, cash flow, existing debt, industry, and collateral. Requirements vary by product and lender. A healthy payment cushion matters more than a headline amount.

Documents to have ready

Keep three to six months of business bank statements, the last two years of available tax returns, identification, and entity documents privately. Equipment purchases may need a quote. Never upload documents or enter account numbers here.

A readiness score, not an approval

Our 0–100 educational score summarizes credit, business age, revenue range, foundation, business credit steps, and document preparation. Conversation-ready status also requires a completed quiz, saved funding profile, and at least half of Business Foundation.

Why personal credit still matters for business funding

Two lanes. One destination.

Most business loans and credit lines still look at the owner's personal credit. Lenders usually ask the owner to sign a personal guarantee, especially for newer businesses, and your personal score helps decide approval, rate, and credit limit. Only a small number of lenders offer financing based on the business alone, and they usually require strong revenue and years in business. That is why we build your personal and business credit at the same time, not one after the other.

  • Personal guarantees are common. Your personal credit is part of most business applications.
  • Better scores can mean better terms. Lower rates, higher limits, and more options.
  • Even good credit can get better. Moving from good to excellent can open more doors.
